Sherina Jones expands Village (FREE)DGE Miami
September 14, 2020, MIAMI, Fla. - Philanthropist Sherina Jones unveiled a new community refrigerator located in Opa Locka in front of local bakery, The Sweet Boutique.
Sherina Jones is an esthetician and owner of Snob Beauty Box, a lash extension and skincare business, in Miramar, and just launched her skincare brand, 11|Seven Skin Essentials. After the pandemic hit, she wanted to help the Black and Brown communities that have been disproportionately affected in a way that could change their lives.
After placing a successful community fridge in front of The Roots Collective store in Liberty City, Jones knew she wanted to expand and add multiple locations across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. With a little help from other business owners in key areas, Jones has started to do just that.
“A few businesses have reached out and want to be a part of it,” said Jones.
The new location in Opa Locka is set to open on September 14, 2020, and they are always looking for food and cash donations.
Food can be taken Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. to The Sweet Boutique at 717 Opa Locka Blvd, Opa Locka, FL 33054, and cash donations can be sent via the Cash App at $villagepantry.
Jones is grateful to the other businesses who have reached out and is thankful that she is able to give back to her community in such a meaningful way.
“I hope to help as many families as I can,” said Jones. “With so much food being thrown away daily, food should be the last thing people are lacking.”
